War in Iraq series - "War Commentary"

Oris Barber's Commentary: Scott, when I was last in Rome it was during the first week of the war. I'm sending a series of photos that relate to the war if you are interested in them.

Yes, Oris, we're interested. Thanks!! There was a strong anti-war sentiment throughout much of Italy's general population, although Italy's highest governmental authorities supported war efforts and causes. Many unfounded and often outlandish rumors surrounding the war have been generated in Italy and have been filtering back to The States. Unfortunately, news and information in Italy regarding the U.S. is commonly, stretched, skewed, invented, misconstrued or otherwise sensationalized, misrepresented or contrived . By the time word of news filters back to The States by way of mouth, it is often humorously, if not wildly contorted. We USA-based lovers of Italy and of Rome in particular find this pattern of misinformation to be disconcerting, divisive and disappointing. On a high note, however, we kicked Sadam's sederone!! The Ace of Spades has played his last hand!!
